Welcome to Deer River Wildground

At Wildground, we believe that childhood is not a problem to solve — it's a season to protect.
In a world that rushes kids to grow up, labels them too quickly, and disconnects families from their inner wisdom, we’re offering a different path.

Nature-Based Enrichment

Reclaiming Childhood Through Play, Curiosity, and Connection

Wildground Enrichment offers children a nature-immersed, screen-free environment where they can run, build, explore, and grow — all at their own pace. Grounded in early childhood best practices, our guides foster belonging, confidence, and social-emotional learning through unstructured outdoor play and gentle rhythm.

  • Offered on site at our enrichment center in Denmark, New York from May-November.

  • Recommended for children ages 4-11

From our family to yours — a return to wildhearted childhood.

At Deer River Wildground, we believe every child is born with wisdom, wonder, and wildness — and that childhood should be a place of freedom, not pressure. Whether your child needs a place to be wild and free, or your family needs more confidence, calm, and clarity, we’re here to help.

We are the parents of three spirited boys who spend their days chasing frogs, building forts, and getting gloriously muddy. Wildground was born from our desire to protect what every child deserves: the space to roam, to wonder, to belong to the land — and to themselves.

In the woods, our children aren’t being measured or managed. They’re exploring, creating, and becoming. They're learning the lost art of play — the kind that doesn’t come in a box or follow a script, but rises from within when children are given time, space, and trust.

We created Wildground as a refuge and a response — a place where preventative mental health support is rooted in nature, nervous-system science, and relationship.

This isn’t school. It’s not therapy. It’s something older and wilder. It’s a place where childhood runs free — and where every family who walks our trails becomes part of the story.

We’re so glad you’re here.
